I feel like i’m in a kind of flux in my gaming. When I restarted this website, things were completely different. I was certain of what games I wanted to play. Now, i’m not really sure what’s going on. So i’m going to talk it all out here for each game I have event he mildest interest in.
Guild Wars 2 Economy Woes
Red means dead for sure.
I’m still in love with World versus World. My problem in Guild Wars 2 is the economic adjustment taking place over the last several months. Early on, the economy was booming. I had more gold than I thought i’d ever need, and that’s after I bought my Commander title. Around the Halloween, Mad King event, things got supremely cheap. In the last month-month and a half, a correction has taken place. It was much needed for sure, but I think it’s swung a little too far for a noticeable over-correction.
I took on the challenge of working up a warrior warhorn build. Looking at the Giver’s gear, the gear created using the Wintersday materials, I thought it was an interesting set to do something with. For those that don’t know, it’s Toughness, Healing, and Boon Duration. After I bought it, I noticed the Boon Duration bonus wasn’t working. Checked the forums and yep, it’s broken. After several patches, it’s still broken. I look for the patch loading bar every time I call up the launcher, and when it doesn’t happen, I get just a little more frustrated. I don’t have the funds to buy another set of gear, and with gold farming nerfed, and prices on the trading post up, I can’t find the motivation to earn more gold. I’ve finally put a Warhorn build together I like, but now I have to decide to work with what I have, or farm for what I don’t.
Firefall Going Strong
I haven’t played this game very much, but I am still interested in it. Right now I feel like I am wandering aimlessly in the game. There’s no quests (that I can find) that point me in a direction. Red 5 Studios seems interested in making good games though too. They do a lot of outreach and communicating on Twitter, Re-Tweeting to give fans and fansites a lot of exposure. I look forward to seeing more from them, and what they have to offer in the future. I still have one beta key left if anyone wants it.
World of Tanks Festive Homescreen
World of Tanks Makes A Comeback
I’ve picked this game back up after over a year. It’s gone through a big change, but coming back has been easy. I did make a medium-sized mistake in buying a new tank that I ended up not wanting – The Wolverine. Again with the in-game currency troubles! I’m trying to slim down to 2 tanks. Having too many contributed to burnout the first time around. My biggest problem is deciding which type of tank to stick with. Choosing a class is always a daunting task for me. I think I am going to try the medium M4A3E2 out, and depending on how that goes I will still have a choice to branch into heavy or stay in the medium line.
Putting Off Planetside 2
I haven’t played Planetside 2 much lately. I really want to like the game, and I see lots of updates, but that’s because of the latency. There have been several websearches that led to this website on just this topic. I’ve been avoiding it, hoping that the latency problem is just gone when I log in again. Not the best strategy, or even a good one. Bottom line, it’s still on the table.
More To Come
These are just the games I have installed. There’s more i’m interested in to come, but i’ll cover that in another post. For now, what do you think of these games? Are you interested, enjoying them, or already over them?
